Project Summary:

The broad purpose statement of this project in this lengthy proposal is to provide workshops which are a further extension of the People to People Peace Process.  Internally Displaced People (IDPs) have caused enormous stress in the area as have returning refugees.  Most have not experienced any system of government other than the military rule established by the SPLA/M. Most need teaching to learn about the representative form of government.

Goal and purpose:

  • Enhanced understanding of the values and principles of participatory governance and human rights through training and engagement.
  • Enhanced participation of people in conflict transformation
  • Reconciliation and Peacebuilding
  • Psycho-social rehabilitation and trauma counseling, with possible establishment of listening centers that would also act as trauma clinics.
  • Rehabilitation and reintegration of excombatants.
  • Inter-religious platform for dialogue
  • Enhanced understanding of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, its contents and concerns raised thus far.
