Project Summary: |
A two classroom secondary school with offices for the Head Teacher and teachers was built and teaching and learning started in 2002. Last year two more classrooms were built the help of well wishers and family. The vision is to develop this school into a boarding school so girls can have the opportunity to study and do homework (instead of housework and chores) after school. It would be an encouragement to all for higher education.
Some of this yearly grant is for school materials (text books, paper and uniforms: $5150). There is $12,120 for teacher incentives. Teachers will be employed from Uganda for three years while local Sudanese are trained. One head master, ten teachers, four cooks, one school officer, two messengers, two guards and two gardeners are needed.
Other school costs total $6207 and that includes feeding, maintenance administrative costs and some contingency funds. Parents will also contribute food.
