Project Summary: |
The NESEI project aims to build 20 model secondary schools that will support the education of 20,000 students within the next 10 years. NESEI is composed of Sudanese of the diaspora, students, volunteers, and experts in international development, economics, anthropology, international education development, and organizational management.
NESEI began construction on 2 schools in Bor and Aliab in 2006-07 and is seeking preliminary approvals from the local and national governments in South Sudan. NESEI is also working on grant-writing and seeking donor funds to build these schools. Priority is given to returning refugees, adult education, and girls' education.
NESEI welcomes partnerships with other organizations working in South Sudan to coordinate efforts involving water, clinics, sustainable agriculture, other educational projects, etc.
