The Second Annual AFRECS Conference was held at the Trinity Cathedral in San Jose, CA, on President's Day weekend, February 17-19, 2006. The conference began with a dinner on Friday, February 17, at 5:00 p.m. The official program began at 7:00 p.m. that evening. The conference ended after the Sunday worship service at St. Andrew's Saratoga.

Conference Follow-up:
One of the conference workshops at this year's conference was on Diaspora
skills transfer for South Sudan. It was presented by John Majok of
the Academy for Educational Development (AED). The Diaspora Skills
Program is a pilot project being implemented by the AED (www.aed.org)
and under contract with the U.S Agency for International Development (USAID).
