
Richard J. Jones
Richard J. Jones is Alwani Professor of Muslim-Christian Dialogue in the Washington Theological Consortium. From 1988 until 2009 he taught mission and world religions at Virginia Theological Seminary. Born in Washington, D.C., he taught English as a foreign language in Viet-Nam and served as a parish priest in Ecuador, Alabama, and Virginia. He studied the Qur’an in Toronto with Mahmoud Ayoub and Hadith interpretation in Selly Oak, England with Muhammad Ibrahim Surty. He has visited the Episcopal Church of the Sudan on three occasions. At home in Alexandria, Virginia, he gardens and goes to the movies with his wife Jody.
