AFRECS Board of Directors

 

Robert Anton Franken

 

Robert Anton Franken is the Principal of Strataventure, LLC a St. Louis based company that works with organizations nationwide in the areas of Leadership Development and Organizational Design. Robert holds a Masters degree in financial economics and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Texas at El Paso.

 

In the area of Leadership, Robert provides advisory and/or coaching for senior executives to strengthen their leadership skills and provide a seasoned outside perspective.  In addition, he assists with team building and facilitation.  In the area of Organizational Design Robert works with the staff of an organization to analyze and the opportunities for improvement and the areas of tension, and then recommends a design to meet these needs and a plan of implementation.

 

Robert has served as the Chief Financial Officer of a $10 million public company and the Operating Officer of two large religious non-profit organizations.  In addition, he has spent seven years lobbying in two different state legislatures for a variety of issues and clients, including those of persons with physical and mental disabilities.  He also has spent many years providing political advice, management consulting, and financial economic analysis.   

 

Robert was born in Den Hague, Holland in 1950, was raised in Seattle Washington, and lived in Okinawa, Japan.  In college he was at the premier institution for cross boarder relations with Mexico, The University of Texas at El Paso.    In business he managed relationships with clients in China, Nigeria, Madagascar, Southern Malawi, Tanzania, Thailand, South Korea, Norway, Sweden, Ireland, Mexico, Venezuela, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Sri Lanka.  He has worked with Export-Import Bank and OPIC (Overseas Private Investment Corporation) in assisting overseas customers develop financing.  And he has negotiated on the merger of two companies across the boarder of Canada. 

 

Robert has been an ordained Episcopal Deacon for the past 25 years and currently serves as the Archdeacon.   In that capacity, he oversees a relationship between the Diocese of Missouri and a Companion Diocese in Southern Sudan and travels their twice a year.   He lives in St. Louis with his wife, Dr. Nancy Kinney, an Assistant Professor of Political Science and Public Policy Administration.
