Rev. Jerry W. Drino
The Rev. Jerry Drino is the former Executive Director of the Episcopal Church in Province VIII (Western US, Hawaii, Alaska and Taiwan) where he also served as the Director of the Office of InterCultural Ministry Development since 1989. Province VIII has 80+ languages spoken in the congregations of the 18 dioceses, including 12 Sudanese and four Kenyan congregations. He is priest-in-charge of Sudanese ministries at Trinity Cathedral, San Jose, CA in the Diocese of El Camino Real and is connected with several development programs in the Sudan. He is director of a national church project, "Meeting on Common Ground: Cultural Diversity in the Ordination Process," and was co-author of "A Resource on Cultural Sensitivity in the Ordination Process," "The Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Dialogues on Anti-Racism," "Called to Serve the Kingdom: Implications for Mission in the Gospel of Luke (USPG 2003)." He was the rector of St. Philip's San Jose for 28 years - a multicultural parish of six ethnic specific congregations.
